We recognize that students will make mistakes. As a result, we have developed a community-service opportunity as both a sanctiona and an optional way to restore trust. There are two distinct ways that a student may be assigned conduct forgiveness.
Sanction: Students who violate the alcohol, drug, and other policies may be assigned a standard amount of work hours to complete in service to the Domain and University. These policy violations will also come with clearly articulated instructions and due dates to complete all work on campus in the student's outcome letter. There will not be an opportunity to complete these sanctioned hours outside of the instructions or off-campus.
Forgiveness: Students who have committed their very first offense may be able to take advantage of our conduct forgiveness policy. Conduct forgiveness gives students a one-time opportunity to restore any loss of privileges associated with a violation by completing service to the community. If a student never has any other incidents in which s/he is found responsible, the initial incident will not be reported on a conduct check. Not all offenses are eligible. If eligible, additional details about taking advantage of this program will be provided in a student’s outcome letter.
INFORMATION BELOW IS CURRENTLY BEING UPDATED AND WILL BE COMPLETE BY SEPTEMBER 1, 2020.
