Sewanee Summer in Russia, a six-week program offered in summer 2019, based in St. Petersburg during the magical White Nights season, is delighted to open its application process! Our successful program has been taking Sewanee students to Russia since 1992! In 2019, we offer:
- Russian language instruction from beginning to advanced levels
- Accommodation in the historical center of St. Petersburg
- A rich cultural program of excursions to the Hermitage, Peter & Paul Fortress, St. Isaac’s Cathedral, Peterhof, and other renowned museums and historical sites
- Attendance at concerts, ballet, and theater events
- Trips to Moscow & Novgorod
Students will earn credit for two full courses, RUSN151: Russian Language Abroad and RUSN 309: Study Abroad: Russian Culture. Both may be applied toward the Russian major or minor. Student from other institution should determine from their own institutions the policies governing the transfer of credits earned through the Sewanee Summer in Russian Program.
The total cost of the program is $8,821.25. It includes:
- Tuition for 2 courses (8 semester hour credits)
- Room & board at the historical center of St. Petersburg
- Tickets to all cultural events, tours, & excursions
- Travel, housing, & meals expenses for the Moscow & Novgorod trips
- Visa fees
- Airfare
