Sewanee Russian Major gets a Fulbright

Kathryn Willgus

For the seventh year in a row, Sewanee's Russian Department has sent one of its students to study or teach in Russia with a Fulbright Scholarship.  This year,  Kathryn Willgus, an English and Russian major will have an English Teaching Assistantship, teaching  in a University in Russia. She'll be expected to do a small side project, but it's not as in-depth as the Research Grant.  She loves art, especially photography, but hasn't had as much opportunity to explore and create during her time at Sewanee, so she hopes to be able to incorporate that into her project. Ms. Willgus studied before in St. Petersburg, and is looking forward to exploring the less well-known parts of Russia.
