Professors Ladygina and Skomp Participate in ASEEES Conference

Last week, Dr. Skomp and Dr. Ladygina attended the 50th annual convention of the Association of Slavic, Eastern European, and Eurasian Studies (ASEEES), which took place in Boston. Dr. Skomp served as a chair and a discussant on the panel titled “Literary Gerontology: Encountering Signs and Stereotypes of Aging in Representations and Performance of Mind and Body in Russian Prose Narratives,” and Dr. Ladygina was a discussant on the panel dedicated to the latest developments in contemporary Ukrainian feminist discourse, titled “Ukrainian Feminisms: Performing Gender, Sexuality, and the Nation.” Both of our professors also participated in a number of events to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the ASEEES, the leading international scholarly society dedicated to the advancement of knowledge about Central Asia, the Caucasus, Russia, and Eastern Europe in regional and global contexts.
