Washington Semester at American University
Sewanee is a member of the Washington Semester Program offered through American University. The program allows students to complete courses related to legal institutions, American politics and media, and international politics and development. In addition, students are allowed to complete internships at relevant organizations in the Washington, DC area. Some of the international tracks entail travel programs for students to Africa or other locales. Sewanee students who are accepted to the program pay Sewanee tuition, which is lower than the American University tuition charges, along with room and board options. Accepted students are also eligible to apply for portability of financial aid from Sewanee through our financial aid office. The deadlines for portability of funding from Sewanee are February 15 (for the fall semester) and Oct. 10 (for the spring semester).
