Assistant to the Rector, Charlotte, N.C.

Assistant to the Rector

St. Martin's Episcopal Church, Diocese of North Carolina

A full time assistant priest is sought to share in the exploration of how God is working in Charlotte and how St. Martin’s Episcopal Church is being invited to that work. St. Martin’s is a vibrant, urban, growing, in numbers and in the Spirit, mission focused, program-sized parish in the Diocese of North Carolina. St. Martin’s, average Sunday attendance of 300+, offers formation for all ages including youth, Catechesis of the Good Shepherd for children, and multiple adult offerings; as well as two Sunday services, feast days, and weekly offerings.

The assistant priest will work closely with the rector and the growing lay staff including children’s minister, youth minister, musician, administrator, and communications director. The assistant will share in the sacerdotal and pastoral duties with the rector and will specifically oversee an implementation of membership programs. Candidates must be conversant with, but not necessarily experienced in, the Invite, Welcome, Connect program, and missional thinking and design.

All motivated candidates are welcome and historically underrepresented populations in the clerical order are strongly encouraged to apply. A competitive salary commensurate with experience is offered.

This is a full-time position. Applications will be accepted until February 28, 2018. Please send resume, Office of Transition Ministry portfolio, and cover letter to the Rev. Joshua Bowron, Rector.
