S.T.M. STUDENTS
The School of Theology will continue to grant the S.T.M. degree. Students applying
to this program must have the first theological degree and must have maintained a
B average in that program. The S.T.M. program requires 30 semester hours and is
an academic research degree based primarily on courses taken in the summer at the
School of Theology, although S.T.M. students may take courses at the Vanderbilt
Divinity School and electives at the School of Theology. These courses must be
above the M.Div. level, or additional work in the courses taken must be required
of the student. The student must have a major area of concentration and must write
a thesis for six hours' credit.
Fees for this program are the same as for the D.Min. Program. Application forms
for the S.T.M. program are available from the Director's Office, School of Theology,
335 Tennessee Avenue, Sewanee, TN 37383-0001.
