Anglican Tour Itinerary

*Tour Itinerary*
*May 23 to June 5, 2006*

May 23	Depart from home cities for overnight ﬂight to London.
May 24	Coach picks up at Heathrow Airport,Terminal 3 at 10:00 a.m. Depart for Chester with a stop in Lichfield to visit the lovely cathedral. Proceed to Chester in time for Evensong followed by a welcome dinner.
May 25	Enjoy a relaxing time touring a bit of North Wales. Return to Chester for a tour of the cathedral followed by Evensong.
May 26	Morning is free in Chester. After lunch, depart for the Lake District and our hotel in Grasmere.
May 27	A full day of touring the region is planned. A special highlight is a trip to the coast to visit the church of St. Bees and a wonderful Viking/Celtic tall cross.
May 28	Attend services at historic St. Oswald's parish church long associated with the William Wordsworth family. Leave the Lake District for Carlisle and Evensong at the Augustinian cathedral. Proceed east to Durham.
May 29	North to Holy Island to visit the priory ruins and St. Mary's church. Return via Melrose abbey in the Borders of Scotland.
May 30	Visit nearby Jarrow and the monastery church associated with the Venerable Bede. Includes some time in the museum before returning to Durham for a free afternoon.
May 31	Journey to Whitby, site of the great Council of 664. Continue through the moors to the ruins of the Cistercian abbey at Rievaulx. Continue to York.
June 1	An optional tour around the Yorkshire Dales or spend the day in York.
June 2	Stop in Lincoln for a tour of the cathedral. Time for lunch and a look around the ancient city before departing for Ely.
June 3	Journey to Norwich for some time at the cathedral. Return to Ely. Some may wish to spend the aftenoon in Cambridge.
June 4	Choral Eucharist at the cathedral. Visit Peterborough in the afternoon before returning to Ely and a farewell dinner.
June 5	The coach leaves for Heathrow, Terminal 3 to arrive at 10:30 a.m.
This is a brief resume of the highlights of the tour. Other sites are planned depending on time and weather conditions.
Hotel Locations:	2 nights Canterbury, 3 nights Worcester, 2 nights Loxton, 2 nights Exeter, 3 nights Winchester.
