‌Built in 1956, Cleveland Hall is one of the most centrally located buildings on campus. Located across from the University Bookstore, Cleveland provides quick access to central campus. Cleveland houses 60 men and women, of whom roughly half are first-year students.

The first and second floors in Cleveland contain three-room suites consisting of two bedrooms and a central study room. Each room has a large window. There are two commons bathrooms on each floor. The third floor has a variety of single rooms. All rooms are carpeted and windows are furnished with blinds.

Average Room Dimensions: 11' 7" x 9' 9",  window 5' 2" x 5' 1"

Average Study Room Dimensions: 12' 9" x 9' 1",  window 5'2"x5'1"

Room Furnishings (based on a double occupancy room):

  • Two twin beds
  • Two wall-mounted bookcases with two shelves each
  • One built-in chest with four drawers and lighted vanity mirror
  • One dresser with five drawers
  • Two built-in closets with a 30" rod for hanging clothes and overhead storage
  • Full length mirror on the back of the room door (in most rooms)

Study Room Furnishings:

  • One desk and chair for each resident
  • One waste bin and one recycling bin
  • One phone for each room
  • One Ethernet port for each resident


The large foyer is stone-floored with a central table and seating. This area is used as a second common room for entertaining guests and for studying away from the television. The common room is furnished like a large living room with sofas, chairs, cable television, a fireplace, and a wall of windows looking into the woods.

The basement contains a large room with washers and dryers, as well as kitchen equipment. There is a separate study/recreational room and a large bicycle room with an external entrance.

Cleveland Hall rooms are not air-conditioned.  The foyer and common room are air-conditioned.
