Alpha Delta Pi (ΑΔΠ)

The Iota Delta Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi was installed at the University of the South in April 2017. Our members came home to Alpha Delta Pi at Sewanee because they were looking for a place that provided them with fun, support, leadership opportunities, and an organization that made them a part of something bigger than themselves.

Alpha Delta Pi joined Kappa Delta as the second national sorority at Sewanee. ADPi is an international sorority with over 161 active chapters. One cool thing about ADPi at Sewanee is that we get the chance to interact with sisters at other nearby schools like UTC, MTSU, and Vanderbilt. ADPi is a huge network of women who are dedicated to empowering other women. Even after our time at Sewanee, we know that we can find a network of sisters wherever life takes us after graduation.

Our members are involved in many extracurricular programs at Sewanee. We are equestrian riders, proctors, track and field athletes, singers, artists,  and actors just to name a few. It is always our goal to remain actively involved members of campus.

If you’re looking for a place where you can be loved for who you are, consider joining ADPi!

Chapter Nickname: ADPi

When Chapter was Founded at Sewanee: April 21, 2017

Motto: “We live for each other”

Values: While our members’ interests, beliefs, and backgrounds are wonderfully diverse, we are bonded through sisterhood in Alpha Delta Pi. Our sisters truly embody Alpha Delta Pi’s core values of scholarship, leadership, service, and sisterhood.

Philanthropy: Since 1979, Alpha Delta Pi has been committed to serving the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) as our international philanthropy. Ronald McDonald Houses provide a “home-away-from-home” for families whose children are receiving medical treatment at nearby hospitals. Our chapter is fortunate to have the opportunity to provide hands-on support to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Chattanooga.

Colors: Azure blue and white are the official colors of Alpha Delta Pi. Blue is symbolic of friendship, the basic spirit upon which Alpha Delta Pi is founded. White symbolizes sincerity and truth. Alpha Delta Pi seeks these qualities in all its members.

Symbols: The lion is the mascot of Alpha Delta Pi (nicknamed Alphie). Diamonds also hold deep meaning, as our badge is diamond-shaped.
