2008 Award Winners - Samantha Kennedy and Doran Bostwick
Doran Bostwick enriched the Sewanee Community
through her involvement in many diverse service
activites. Around the mountain, Doran led students
to a community soup kitchen in Chattanooga,
participated in Caws for Paws and Senior Citizen's
Outreach. Doran also did excellent work serving as
the student leader of PRE Orientation. Abroad,
she volunteereed medically during a visit to Haiti and
a semester in Ghana. Doran's generous spirit was a
beacon leading others to serve.
Samantha Kennedy instigated lasting
change on the Sewanee campus and
the surrounding communities.On campus,
Sam made headway fighting against the
challenges faced by the LBGT community.
Sam was also a strong proponent of
womens' rights. In the surrounding comunity,
Sam was instrumental in the creation of a
Cumberland Plateau business directory to
stimulate economic growth in the area.
The University benefitted from Sam's
ability to confront challenges.
