Winter Issue Featured in NewPages   printer

NewPages, a company providing information on independent bookstores and publishers, literary magazines, alternative periodicals, and more, publishes their reviews of literary magazine issues on their website. The Sewanee Review's winter 2013 issue on the literature of war was recently featured, and NewPages had many positive things to say about both the issue as a whole and some of the individual pieces—their greatest praise was given to Michael Beeman's short story "The Sleeping Saints," with favorable accounts also given of Austin Smith's poem, "The Stephenson County Fair in Wartime"; Scott Donaldson's essay, "Bomber Boy"; Edwin M. Yoder, Jr.'s essay, "Intestine Shock," and Earl Rovit's personal essay "The Waning of the Wayne." Read the review here!
