Both Brock Adams's "Audacious" and Ernest J. Finney's "Crime of Opportunity" have been anthologized in the Best American Mystery Stories 2011, edited by Harlan Coben and Otto Penzler.
Each of these stories appeared in our Summer 2010 issue, "Fiction: Our Spectacle, Our Suspense, and Our Thrill," with Adams's piece winning the Andrew Nelson Lytle Fiction Award—as a first-time contributor, nonetheless. We are obviously thrilled for each of these authors and honored to have had their work appear in the SR.
We are also proud to announce that three more contributors to the magazine are notables in this year's Best American Essays—Floyd Skloot for "On the Bottom Shelf," Jim Brown for "Riverboat Pilot," and Pat Hoy II for "Images on the Danube." Congratulations to these authors for their fine work.
