New! Cary Holladay's two new collections

Cary Holladay has two new collections of short stories out now: Horse People (LSU Press) and The Deer in the Mirror (Ohio State Press), which won the Prize in Short Fiction from Ohio State University. Both collections draw on Holladay’s ability to write authentic, enthralling, multigenerational stories set in the south. The description of the Horse People sums it up: “Holladay’s people fight wars, battle the floods, and wrest a living from a wilderness where Time is God’s, not ours. Head over to the University of Ohio press to pick up your copy of The Deer in the Mirror, or you could mull it over by reading the full description, praise for the book, and a swath of an excerpt. When you’re done there, head to LSU press and grab Horse People. Below is a video of Holladay reading and explaining the inspiration for the first story in Horse People.
