David Livewell's Newest Collection Wins 2012 T. S. Eliot Prize

Shackamaxon, published this fall by Truman State University Press, is David Livewell's exploration of his childhood haunts in North Philadelphia. Sandra McPherson, one of the judges who awarded Livewell with the 2012 T. S. Eliot Prize, praises the collection as "a book of marvelous acceptance," citing Livewell's "affectionate way of collecting his thoughts, the poems' impulses, his personal and shared history."
