Casey Clabough's Double Feature

With a novel, Confederado: A Novel of the Americas, and a scholarly book, Inhabiting Contemporary Southern and Appalachian Literature, both being published, Casey Clabough had a very busy summer. Clabough's scholarly study considers many notable writers from the southeast—some of whom (Fred Chappell, George Garrett, James Dickey) have been and were integral to the life of this magazine for several decades. Confederados, a work of historical fiction set in the Reconstruction-era South, has been reviewed favorably by many critics, including SR regulars Ron Rash and David Madden.

Clabough will review in our upcoming fall 2013 issue on memoir and travel.
