The Sewanee Festival of Speaking showcases student speakers from across the university engaging topics of political, social, scientific, cultural, and professional significance. Held each Easter semester, the festival features four contests: Public Speaking, Speaking Science to the Public, Speaking in a Second Language, and Ethical Critiques of Business Practices. Panels of judges select the winners of each contest, and members of the campus and local community are invited to attend.

The 2017-2018 Festival will be held on April 23-26, 2018.
