The Center for Speaking & Listening is located in the former Wright Morrow Reading Room in the Jessie Ball duPont Library on the main floor in the Learning Commons. The Center’s beautiful, renovated space is designed to support students, faculty, and staff who may wish to prepare and practice individual and group presentations, poster presentations, interviews, debates, simulations, dialogues, languages conversations, and other kinds of speaking and listening endeavors and projects.
With its access to duPont’s expert librarians and enormous resources (print and electronic), the Center space includes furniture, high speed Wi-Fi, and electrical outlets for group work, meetings, and practice. There are also four semi-private practice rooms that each include tables, chairs, a white board, and a computer screen with WiFi capabilities. Students can reserve practice rooms and check out SWIVL devices from the circulation desk to record and review presentations on their smartphones.
