Cannon
Hall
Built in 1926,
Cannon Hall accomodates 50 men, approximately half of whom are first-year
students. Located on South Carolina Avenue, Cannon is close to central
campus, but a short walk from the Quadrangle. When it was first
built in the 20's, Cannon was awarded for being one of the finest
dorms in the country. With thirty-one rooms on three floors, arranged
in singles and doubles, Cannon offers a mix of rooms for upperclassmen
and first-year students.

Hall floors
and bedroom floors are carpeted in blue and have white walls. Each
double room contains two beds, two dressers, and two chairs. Some
rooms feature built-in shelving. Except for the corner rooms, each
room has one large window with white venetian blinds. The larger
corner rooms feature two windows. Each floor shares a common bathroom.
There is a common
room on the first and third floors, and each contains comfortable
seating, a television and VCR. The dorm kitchen, furnished with
stove,-oven, microwave, refrigerator, and sink, is located on the
third floor. Laundry machines are located in the basement, and a
new bike shed is adjacent to the dorm. The dorm grill is located
beside the front entrance.
