Habitat

The lemur collection is free ranging, but is supported by dispersed feeding in the northern forested area of the island. Cages for protection in occasional cold weather are also in this area. The home ranges include largely mixed oak and pine forest which is dry nearly all year. The canopy is easily adequate for arboreal progressions. The understory includes saw palmetto and some cane, but is largely open.
