SERVICE GUIDELINES
Revised July 2007
Physical Plant Services has established four categories of work.
1. Emergency: Work Requests that requires PPS to stop what we are doing and respond immediately.
2. Preventive Maintenance: Recurring work that is accomplished on an established scheduled. Preventive Maintenance is accomplished repetitive work, to extend the life of a facility or to maintain a piece of equipment.
3. Non-Emergency: All Work Requests that are not classified as emergency.
4. Projects: Large remodeling, renovation, or new construction that require advanced planning, design, scheduling and execution. Can be accomplished by contract or in-house.
EMERGENCY SERVICE:
For emergency service call our Customer Service Desk at 598-1264 during normal business hours Monday through Friday from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm. During non business hours contact the Police Department Dispatcher at 598-1111.
PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE:
Automatically scheduled and completed by PPS.
NON-EMERGENCY:

SPECIAL EVENTS/SETUPS:
Special events and setups are scheduled through the ASTRA system. Contact the Master Calendar Coordinator, Jan Seigmund at 598-1734 or jseigmun@sewanee.edu
For emergencies follow emergency service procedures.
CUSTODIAL SERVICES:
Schedule for custodial services are posted in each facility and are automatically accomplished by our custodial staff. If you require special or emergency custodial services follow emergency or non-emergency request procedures.
GROUNDS MAINTENANCE:
Routine grounds/forestry, athletic field, and golf course maintenance are automatically accomplished by our grounds/forestry staff. If you require special or emergency grounds/forestry support follow the emergency or non-emergency request procedures.
RENTAL HOUSING:
Contact rental housing customer service at 598-1358 during normal business hours Monday through Friday from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm for all maintenance and service requests or email rntlhsng@sewanee.edu. For emergencies during non-business hours contact the Police Department Dispatcher at 598-1111.
