The Pearigen Award will be given monthly to an undergraduate student in the College. The idea of this award is to recognize those outstanding contributions to the community, whether behind-the-scenes or in a leadership capacity, whether in the classroom or outside of it, but mostly it is designed to give regular recognition to amazing Sewanee students.
Below are some guidelines to consider when recommending a student for this award:
- There is no minimum GPA to receive the award
- Nominations can be submitted by any faculty, staff, or student
- 3-4 prizes will be awarded per semester
- An individual student may only receive one award per year
The award will consist of the following:
- Lunch with Dr. Robert Pearigen
- A framed certificate
- Recognition in the Sewanee Purple
Members of the Student Life Cabinet will choose the Award Recipients each month. All student nominees will receive a letter indicating that they were nominated for
The Pearigen Award.
