Welcome to the Outreach Network
For the past seventeen years, Sewanee students, of the college and seminary alike, have been actively involved in helping and serving others through the Outreach and Community Service Office and the Community Service Council. Student commitment to social responsibility has always been a large part of the University's history and tradition. As an entering or returning student, you now have the opportunity to become a part of this ongoing endeavor....not only at the local level, but also in the larger community which lies beyond the gates of the Domain. There are tremendous needs to "make a difference" in this world; our hope is that you will join in accepting our challenge to experience some kind of Outreach work during your time here on the Mountain. Experience has taught us that in serving others, often times we too are served.
Now it is even easier to volunteer. The goal of the Outreach Network, ON, is to connect the University students and community members to all of the outreach, advocacy, environmental, and religious organizations associated with Sewanee. By empowering the leaders and educating the volunteers, it will create an efficient, organized, and vibrant group of motivated people.
