Environmental Residents

Environmental Residents

"My vision for the Environmental Residents program is to build a more environmentally-conscious student body through encouraging students to make more sustainable lifestyle choices. Last year four dorms participated in a pilot program (Benedict, Hoffman, Johnson, and St. Luke's) where I along with some of my peers documented sustainable practices in dorms, audited the recycling bins, and lead sustainability-themed events to build community. " —Lauren Newman, C'18 Sustainability Fellow

While previous attempts of the Environmental Residents program have failed, Lauren Newman is finally making it work. ER's are students across campus in almost every dorm who help with move-in, work on trash and recycle bin audits, exemplify responsible, sustainable practices for their dorms, move-out waste diversion efforts and host events to bring fun to learning about sustainability.
