Garden Interns provide Farm to Table link

Devante Jones C'16 prepares to transport head lettuce from the Sewanee Organic Garden to the cooler at McClurg Dining hall. Jones and fellow student, Julian Cope, interned on the University Farm throughout the summer of 2015.

The pair constructed new fences, planted crops, then weeded and harvested cucumbers, lettuce, squash peppers and herbs. They also learned about tractor maintenance and animal care. Food picked at the farm is often served later that same day at the University's dining hall.
