New Faculty Development Sessions

The Center for Teaching works closely with Elizabeth Skomp, Associate Dean for Inclusion and Faculty Development, to provide orientation and year-long programming for our new faculty.  Unless otherwise noted, all sessions will take place from 3-5 pm. This year’s schedule is as follows: 

Friday, September 14, 2018, 4-5:30 p.m. (Torian Room)
- Course design / proposing new courses (with a representative from the Curriculum and Academic Policy Committee)
- "Small teaching" and practical pedagogical strategies 

Friday, November 2, 2018, 3-5 p.m. (Center for Teaching)
- Mid-semester feedback and problem-solving protocol
- Optional consultation: syllabi and practical pedagogical strategies
