Foreign Language Yoga Classes at the Language Resource Center

Yoga classes will be every Friday afternoon in the Language Resource Center, Gailor 225. Students will have a low-stress kinesthetic language learning experience. Classes will be led by students or professors or simply following one of the many Youtube videos of yoga classes in a wide variety of languages. Please check with your professor to see if attending these classes can be used for culture points. Read more to find out when classes will be offered in YOUR language!

Sewanee Summer in St. Petersburg

Dr. Mark Preslar took a group of Sewanee students to spend the summer in St. Petersburg. Students took courses during the days and went on excursions to Moscow, Novgorod, and other areas of Russia. They visited humble peasant architecture and the most ornate imperial palaces. They ate traditional foods, went to the ballet, and had bonfires on the beach.

New Professor of Russian at Sewanee

Susanna Weygandt, who has been teaching at the prestigious Middlebury Intensive Russian Summer Program, will be joining the Russian Department at Sewanee. Here she is photographed with her students at Middlebury.

Professor Engel organized and chaired a symposium on "Memory and Mortality in Renaissance England" at The Warburg Institute, Center for Advanced Study, University of London, which brought together renowned experts in early modern literary and cultural studies from the USA, Canada, Australia, England, Wales and France.
