Greetings from the African American Alliance on the campus of Sewanee: The University of the South, located in Sewanee, Tennessee, on 10,000 acres. It is time for the annual Step Show. This year, we have scheduled the event for 8:00 p.m., on Saturday, February 2.
We would like to invite you and your organization to join us for what has proved to be a fun an exciting competition. We will have a prize of $1000 for first place in both the fraternity and sorority categories. We will have also a $500 prize for the second place teams. In fifteen-plus years of competition, winners have come from colleges including Georgia Tech, UT-Chattanooga, Auburn, Vanderbilt, Fisk, MTSU, and the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa. We believe there are many creative step teams and it would be our pleasure to watch your team compete.
If your organization is interested in competing, please complete the registration form online by clicking registration on the left sidebar. To ensure your spot in the line-up of the competitors, send your $50 deposit to Anisha Langhorn at the address below. Please have your registration postmarked by December 2, 2007. When we receive your deposit, we will send a confirmation packet with directions to the campus, the expected arrival time, and other details about the event.
Following the Step Show, we will sponsor a campus-wide party for the participants and their guests. Students across campus enjoy this annual event, which helps further advance our culturally diverse environment.
In consideration of the travel distance and cost, we will send each team that traveled to Sewanee for the competition, $40 for gas, by mail, after the competition. We will provide also hotel rooms for each organization participating in the competition and a meal for all competitors before the show begins.
