Colman McCarthy, a former Washington Post columnist, directs the Center for Teaching Peace in Washington DC. He teaches courses on pacifism and nonviolence at Georgetown Law School, American University, the University of Maryland and three high schools. Since 1982, he has more than 6,000 students in his courses. His books include All of One Peace and I'd Rather Teach Peace. He has edited two anthologies of peace writings: “Solutions to Violence” and “Strength Through Peace.” He is a regular lecturer at U.S. Colleges and universities.
