The Track Majors

Every student majoring in International & Global Studies takes two introductory courses from a common set of classes as well as the capstone Senior Seminar. Otherwise, each student concentrates in one of the following tracks (which may also be understood as specific majors). The name of the current track director is in parenthesis.
A. Area Studies
  • [Asian Studies is also available as a major at Sewanee but is an autonomous program]
        *language intensive

B. Global Studies
  • Global Relations (Professor Elwood Dunn, Political Science)
    with subfields in:
    • Political, Economic, and Social Development
    • Environmental Affairs
    • Inter-state Relations
    • Non-state Actors
