Prescription Needs

Dispensary.

• UHS uses a well-known dispensary system in which the medications are prepared by pharmacists and the bottles and containers are sealed prior to arriving at the health service.
• While our list of medications is limited, we do have commonly used antibiotics, eye and ear drops, antifungal creams, antibacterial creams and other various medications. These are all in generic forms and are provided at a cost to the student. While some of the medications may cost a bit less at local pharmacies, depending on insurance coverage, students typically choose to get their medications here in order to avoid a trip out of Sewanee.
• We are happy to write prescriptions for students to take to the pharmacy.
• Prescriptions can also be written for attention deficit disorder medications once the student has been cleared by our Counseling Service. More detailed information can be obtained by contacting UHS or the Counseling Service.
