OK here is the situation. It feels like we are too rushed. Poem 64 flew by without any discussion and poem 63 was only a little better. I would like to put off the test until Tuesday, November 19 and use this Thursday for a thorough discussion of the two poems. If this change of schedule creates a problem for any individual, see me and I'll work with you to find a convenient time to take the exam.

For the class on Thursday, each person will have responsibility for a portion of one of the two poems. The assignments are random. You are asked to reread both poems in translation so that you are familiar with the general content. For your special assignment of a segment of either 63 or 64 you will be asked to 1) review and explain the action taking place in those lines, 2) relate those actions to any thematic development, and 3) make any additional comments you can about the content and merit of those lines. You will only have 3-5 minutes to make your presentation, so carefully organize and prepare what you going to say. I shall place translations of the two poems in the box outside my door.
