Your final grade evaluations will be based on six components:

• a semester average grade for daily translations and class participation.
• 3 class exams (September 18, October 14, and November 20).
• 1 final examination (December 12).
• 1 assigned paper (due December 9).

The six components will be averaged together with the following values.
• Daily translations and class participation--15%
• 3 exams and final 80 %
• abstract 5%

• 3 exams and final 65 %
• paper assignment 20% (abstract and six page essay)

or
• Daily translations and class participation--15%
• exams and final 55%
• paper assignment 30% (abstract and research paper)
