1.  What patterns do you find in the map of the Atlanta Campaign? 

2.  How did William T. Sherman justify evicting Atlanta's civilians from their homes, and why did he do so at such great length?   Why didn't he simply say, "I am the conqueror and you are conquered -- obey my orders or suffer the consequences"? 

3.  Once in possession of Atlanta, what new difficulty faced Sherman's command?
