Light travels as a wave. If you could look at a wave from one end, over time you would see a spot of light moving up and down. This is the vibrational direction of that wave  White light is made up of light waves traveling in all directions of vibration and propagation with the different wavelengths which make up visible light. The vibrational directions of white light could be represented like so:
