Dispersion of extinction produces anomolous polarization colors for crystals in oblique extinction orientations. Essentially the oblique angle changes as the stage is rotated, thus producing different colors when the crystal is viewed under crossed polars. When you view the copper acetate movie note that on one side of extinction blue is observed while yellow/green is observed on the other side. This is especially clear for the large central crystal, but may also be observed for many of the other crystals.
