TigerNet is an online database of job and internship postings, both specifically for Sewanee students and extensive postings made possible through the vendor, Experience. Sewanee-specific postings are denoted with this symbol:
Through TigerNet, students may upload a resume for employers to view, apply to jobs/internships and sign-up for interview times online. TigerNet also has a Calendar section which lists Career Services events. For events requiring a reservation, TigerNet is the place to register.
TigerNet for Alumni is a resource provided for alumni through a partnership with Experience and is a great resource for both active and passive job seekers. It contains career resources from Hoovers and Salary.com, industry profiles and thousands of job listings. In addition, Sewanee alumni can post jobs that they hope to fill with fellow alumni. Career Services is made aware of numerous job opportunities each week by employers who want to hire a Sewanee graduate. These are posted on TigerNet for Alumni and denoted with this symbol:
Sewanee Gateway is an online directory of Sewanee alumni and parents. It is the primary way that students connect with helpful alumni. The search engine is not very intuitive, and users must be very specific when using it. (e.g. when searching for alumni in Atlanta, those living in Decatur or Alpharetta will not appear)
Internships page provides a list of all of the funds and programs that are available to Sewanee students. You can also find deadlines, forms, application procedures, information from past interns and answers to frequently asked questions. Remember, though, visit TigerNet to apply for internships.
HonorRollOnline.com seeks to connect students from selective institutions with enrollments under 5000 with recruiters from Fortune 1000 companies. Sewanee was one of the initial partner schools, and students who post their resumes DO get contacted by recruiters. By junior year, students interested in working in the private sector need to have their resumes posted on Honor Roll Online. Sewanee's school code is 1642.
Optimal Resume is a great place to get a start on your resume. You can create, style and store your resume here and display it as a document or a website. It's a great resource, but remember to have a member of the Career Services staff review it!
Spotlight on Careers provides career resources for liberal arts students, including profiles of jobs and industries and their earnings and outlooks.
