Application Guidelines for the Beatty Chemistry Research Internship
Summer 2008
The Croom Beatty Chemistry Research Internship provides funding for a chemistry student to work at a summer internship. If there are no candidates for an external internship, a student can apply to perform scientific research at Sewanee during the summer. There will be one ten-week stipend of $3200. Upon completion of the internship, a report must be submitted. It may consist of a number of media: a written document (2-5 pages), a PowerPoint presentation, or a website.
Before submitting a proposal, a student must consult with a faculty member in chemistry, who will become the student's faculty sponsor. It is expected that the submitted proposal will be written by the student, with the faculty sponsor’s role that of a mentor.
