Curriculum
The academic program consists of college-level mini-courses in physics and calculus, taught by college professors. These short courses are designed to give students a head start for their senior year in high school and for college. Teamwork is emphasized throughout the curriculum and culminates in multimedia presentations of group projects at the end of the program.
The mathematics experience is
an introductory calculus class. In 2009, a computer science component was added to provide real-world applications of calculus functions. Faculty members who teach the physics component of the Bridge program determine the topics which will be covered. Astronomy has been the focus for the past two summers. In 2007, Dr.Shapiro explored fractals and kinetics with his students.
