2013 Bridge Program Dates: Deadline - April 01, 2013 |
Astronomy
The astronomy component of the Bridge program takes advantage of the local dark sky conditions - weather permitting. For the past two years, students imaged comets for laboratory exercises at the campus observatory and had their data published by the Smithsonian-Harvard Minor Planet Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Individual groups also observed Near Earth Asteroids to help make sure they will miss the earth, monitored energetic supernova in distant galaxies, and imaged colorful nebulae in the Milky Way Galaxy.
