No one can tell the Sewanee story like our alumni can. The better we can tell the Sewanee story, the better we can attract the right students to the University of the South. As we continue to emphasize the importance of demonstrated interest in the admission process, it is more important than ever for us to give prospective students new opportunities to have meaningful engagement with the Office of Admission.

We are pleased to announce training for Alumni Conversations, a new engagement format for prospective students and a new opportunity for you as an Alumni Arcadian.

Alumni Conversations is a social setting wherein prospective students can have conversations with multiple alumni and a one-on-one session between an alumnus/a and a prospective student. The social setting is reception-like and the one-on-one session is interview-like, but friendlier. Although we value your feedback on the students with whom you meet, we value the sharing of your Sewanee story even more. Alumni Conversations are intended to help prospective students get a feel for what makes Sewanee distinctive through the stories of alumni.

We tested this new engagement format in Dallas and Houston recently, and, to our delight, the format received high praise from prospective students and alumni alike. Now that we have made refinements, we are ready to take Alumni Conversations to cities all across the country. When we do, we hope that you will be a part of them. Scheduling is underway, and we will contact you when opportunities in your area arise.

Thank you for sharing your Sewanee story at college fairs, on phone calls with admitted students, and any time you meet a young person who seems like she or he belongs on the Mountain. We hope Alumni Conversations will help all of our alumni do this more often and in an even more fun way!

Alumni Conversations training is currently scheduled for the following cities.

Atlanta, Ga. Sunday, Aug. 21
Birmingham, Ala. late August
Chattanooga, Tenn. Thursday, Aug. 18
Nashville, Tenn. Monday, Aug. 15
