Jordan Wright is a bass performer and teacher from Lexington, Kentucky. He earned a bachelor's degree in bass performance from the University of Louisville, and is currently pursuing a master's degree in bass performance from the University of Louisville. He is also an alumnus of the Sewanee Summer Music Festival and of the Kentucky Governor's School for the Arts.
Jordan maintains an active performing career as an orchestral bass player, a chamber musician, and as a jazz bassist. He is a member of the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra and has been involved with the Louisville Civic Orchestra since 2011. He also loves to perform in chamber ensembles and jazz combos. He performs with many ensembles in various venues throughout Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana.
In addition to being an adjunct faculty member at Sewanee University, Jordan serves as the bass instructor of the Louisville Community Music Program. He is a sectional coach and bass instructor in many public schools throughout Kentucky and Indiana. He also enjoys being a private lessons instructor to many young musicians and he is truly excited to be part of the Sewanee music family.
