Sewanee-At-Yale Directed Research students Petra Richer and Haley Wilbanks write the following about an event they recently participated in:
"On Sunday, April 19, we volunteered for the “Moving On" Conference, http://collegeautismspectrum.com/images/April19_YaleChildStudyCenter.pdf, a day long event at the Yale Child Study Center dedicated to helping high school students with Autism Spectrum Disorders learn more about and prepare for college. We heard a variety of speakers talk about adjusting to college life, dealing with anxiety and reaching out for assistance. The Dean of Undergraduate Admissions at Yale also gave a special presentation regarding the college application process to both parents and students. We helped with registration, collected studies and talked to a few students about our college experiences. It was inspiring to see the multitude of resources provided by the Child Study Center to families."
