How do I apply?

1.  Apply early!  Many programs use “rolling admissions”.

Early planning may also be needed to obtain a student visa in time for the program.

2. Obtain a program application form.

Many information packets contain applications.  Applications may also be available on-line.

3.  Get the endorsement of the Office of Study Abroad. This entails:

A check of your academic records to confirm at least a 2.5 cumulative grade point average

A check of your disciplinary record

4.  Remember that you probably don't need to apply to numerous programs.

Consult the Study Abroad office about the need for a back-up plan after you have made your first choice selection.

5.  After being admitted, submit an, " Application for Leave of Absence for Study Abroad”  form.   Find that form here.

Observe the deadline!

Be attentive to the range of information on the form and work carefully.

Note the section of the form which has to do with course pre-approvals

6.  Plan in relation to your major, minor, or concentration, and secure the necessary signatures on your Leave form.

Do not select courses which do not match our departmental/programmatic designations.

Do not take courses on a pass/fail basis while on study abroad
