Two psychology professors assist with Don’t Meth With Us presentation for area fifth-graders

Jessica Siegel and Karen Yu met regularly with members of the Rotary Club of Monteagle Sewanee to develop a presentation on methamphetamine and its effects for fifth graders at the Cowan, Sewanee, and Monteagle elementary schools.

They have begun to assess the impact of the “Don’t Meth With Us” program using pre- and post-presentation questionnaires.  Psychology major Jessica Deimler ’14 attended the presentations and is helping with data analysis and interpretation, which will be used to help guide and inform future versions of the program.

For more details on the program, other agencies involved, and community sponsors see the page 3 story in The Sewanee Mountain MESSENGER.
