Sewanee Responds: A Panel Discussion on the Destruction of the Ancient City of Palmyra

Please join your colleagues from across campus for a panel discussion next Tuesday, September 8th at 
‌4:30pm in Gailor Auditorium on the Islamic State and the ongoing destruction of the architecture and related antiquities at the ancient city of Palmyra.  Four panelists from across the campus will share their perspectives:

Dr. Jacqueline DiBiasie Sammons. Classical Archaeology
Dr. Nicholas Roberts. History
Dr. Sara Nimis. Mellon Globalization Forum Fellow


Our goal is to open a dialogue about these current events and to establish a forum for educated discussion.  So, please come to listen and to share your thoughts on this ongoing crisis. Come to get a sense of the significance of these events through a variety of lenses.
