In August there is traditionally an orientation for all incoming and new students interested in learning more about pre-health at Sewanee, as well as an orientation for their parents. The path through pre-health is rigorous and requires support from home. The parent orientation allows family members to learn about our program, experiential learning opportunities, and how to support your student.
The student orientation is a chance for pre-health students to ask questions, meet new people, and begin to create a relationship with the Office of Medical and Health Programs. You will meet our faculty and student leaders; be introduced to resources such as advising, tutoring, workshops, and internships; and learn where to find information. We send out weekly emails, promote events on monitors outside our office, and send regular newsletters. For an example of a newsletter, please review our October issue. Students who are interested in receiving emails about programming and co-curricular opportunities are encouraged to look for and read email from the Office of Medical and Health Programs email@example.com.
