Upcoming Environmental Events

The Sewanee Integrated Program in the Environment is working closely with associated departments and programs to bring several exciting speakers to campus this fall. The first in this series will take place at the SUT on Tuesday, September 20 and was organized by the First-Year and Archaeology programs. The speakers will focus on prehistoric cave paintings  in the region.

“Notes from the Underground” by John Jeremiah Sullivan (Writer for the New York Times Magazine, author of Unnamed Caves and Sewanee Alumnus C’97), Jan Simek (President Emeritus, Distinguished Professor of Science, Department of Anthropology, University of Tennessee Knoxville), Stephen Alvarez (Photo journalist; National Geographic Photographer for 20 years) and Greg Pond (Professor of Art and Art History, Sewanee University of the South).
