Kennedy Lecture in honor of Professor Robin Gottfried

As an expert on international trade and policy, Appleyard will discuss the dynamics of domestic and international inequality using data from 1976 onward. Once an important mentor to Gottfried at UNC-Chapel Hill, Appleyard will examine several of the possible factors underpinning these changes while also touching on several topics of Gottfried's interest such as trade, development and religion.

Dennis Appleyard is an accomplished economist. He has published extensively in the area of international economics and has coauthored one of the major undergraduate textbooks in the field. Professor Appleyard, who has been the recipient of several teaching awards, continues to view the opportunity to teach international economics in this age of growing globalization as a rare privilege and an enviable challenge.

The lecture will be on Thursday November 14th at 4:30PM in Convocation Hall. Refreshments and hors d'oeuvres will be available after the talk.

Everyone is welcome. Please consider attending!
