Stephen A. Ford

B.A., Colby College; M.A., Ph.D., University of Minnesota


Steve received his B.A. in English from Colby College and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Agricultural and Applied Economics from the University of Minnesota.

Prior to moving to Sewanee in 2000 he was on the faculties of the University of Florida and Penn State University. He currently is a manager of a family farm in Alabama and teaches as needed in the Economics Department at the University of the South, having taught Finance, International Development, International Trade, and Mathematical Economics among other courses. He serves on the board of the Southern Cotton Growers Association and the National Center for Food and Agricultural Policy. He has also served as an expert witness on agricultural damages in 30 legal cases.
